Nissan GT-R SpecV video

As if the Skyline GT-R wasn’t insane enough already, Nissan had to go and introduce the SpecV! What am I saying? I knew they would eventually come out with a meaner version. Nissan is all about that and it’s one of the main reasons I respect the brand.

The new SpecV only has a 5 hp increase compared to the regular model. The new version isn’t a huge jump in terms of performance numbers but from what I have read, most of the difference will be felt on the track. 0-60mph is still in the mid 3 second range with a quarter mile of 11.5 seconds @ 124 mph. Not too shabby, eh? Nissan engineers have achieved these numbers by increasing turbo boost pressure while shedding 132 pounds of unwanted weight; the latter resulted in a better power to weight ratio.

What really get’s me going about this car is its performance on the skidpad; it manages to pull 1.12 g of lateral g-force! Sweet!

A cool touch to the interior is the special quilted racing material Nissan used instead of the rear seats (see it in the video @ the 54th sec). I know it’s a minor detail but I’m weird like that.
