Driving Roads: Lucky Emiratis

I know many of you have seen this wonderful twisty road before but I thought I would show it again. It’s the road of Jebel Hafeet, a long winding road leading to an old palace at the top of the mountain in Al Ain, UAE. According to Wikipedia, the Jebel Hafeet Road “extends for 11.7 km up the mountain, rising 1219 m”, or 4,000 ft. It also mentions that it has “21 corners and three lanes (two climbing and one descending).” We need to discover more roads like this in the Middle East.

If I’m not mistaken, the first video is of Mohammed Bin Sulayam (legendary Arab rally driver) who’s carving out the road in the Nissan GT-R.

This next clip is from the TV show, Fifth Gear. Tiff Needell takes a ride in a BMW M3.

Now you know why I named this post “Lucky Emiratis”!
