Celebrating McLaren

I thought I should do something to celebrate McLaren as I am really excited about its new MP4-12C. It’s the first time we have seen anything from them since the legendary McLaren F1.

So I found this, the video posted below which is the F1’s record braking top speed run where it managed to achieve 391 km/h in 1998. Remember, this car was packing a naturally aspirated BMW V12 engine. No turbos, no superchargers or any type of forced induction. That’s something special for a car which was designed and produced in 1992.

The only car to beat it performance numbers-wise was the Bugatti Veyron (first produced in 2005) which has 16 cylinders and 4 turbos. And I stress that it was only able to beat it in the top speed department. The proof is in the video below.

I hope that puts things into perspective. Thank you McLaren and please, please, please grace us with a new F1.

It really is the best car ever, and will never be beaten!

Amazing car. That was a standard Mclaren F1. Imagine if the Veyron had gone against a Mclaren F1 GTR. Ron Dennis has promised Lewis Hamilton he will get the mint example sitting at their Woking HQ.

I remember that promise. What a lucky kid!!! It would be a dream come true just to sit in one and start it up lol
