New McLaren F1 under development! Great news or not?

According to Autocar, McLaren are hard at work on a new and “revolutionary” F1 supercar in 2012. The new McLaren F1 will use a carbon fiber monocoque and a mid-engine layout. Some of the familiar design cues from the legendary F1 could possibly make it to the newer version; however, it has not been confirmed if the 3-seater configuration (driver sits in the center) will be used in the successor.

I am a bit unsure of whether to be happy or sad. The new McLaren F1 will not be a limited production model like the previous car. Should they use the F1 name or not? I’m not sure, but all I know is the new car better be worthy of the name because it has massive shoes to fill.
