Launched! New Mercedes-Benz CLS

Mercedes-Benz was officially going to unveil the new CLS at October’s Paris Motor Show. Since images were recently leaked of the car onto the internet, I guess Mercedes decided to just go ahead and unveil it officially online. Judging by the car’s looks, I’m sure it will generate a lot of excitement at the show.

The whole car – including main headlamps, running lamps, turn signals and side lamps – consist of LED lights. The CLS uses a total of 71 bulbs making up the main headlamps, running lamps, turn signals and side lamps. Hit the jump for more pictures.

It has been reported that the new CLS will play host to a variety of new engines. First is the 3.5-liter direct-injected V6. Next up is the twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8 producing around 430 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. And last but definitely not least, an AMG variant with the new 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8.

The taillight treatment will probably look amazing at night time, like two slant eyes. The design works really well with the muscular lines of the car.

I’m a big fan of the revised interior design theme. Mercedes has been somewhat off the pace in recent years, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
