Launched! Porsche Cayman R (w/video)

One of the most sought-after Porsches has finally arrived! The mid-engined baby Porsche had quickly become a cult favorite when it was first launched in 2005, but as with all Porsche models lately, a more hardcore version has been released. Meet the Porsche Cayman R!

The body has been lowered by 20 millimeters in comparison to the Cayman S. The car visually benefits from a fixed rear spoiler, black-framed headlights, black exterior mirrors and retro racing graphics on the side.

Being 55 kilograms lighter, the rear-wheel drive Cayman R is powered by a 3.4-liter 6-cylinder engine which pumps out 330 hp (10 more than the Cayman S), which will guarantee this car will be a joy to toss around on the road or at the local track. 0-100 km/h figures differ depending on which gearbox you choose,  5 seconds for the 6-speed manual and 4.9 seconds for the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) double-clutch transmission. Not exciting enough? You can tick the Sport Chrono package option, which will get you to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.7 seconds.

The interior also gets a few unique touches with Alcantara and leather sport seats, strap door handles and a painted console matching the exterior.

In addition, the lightest 19-inch wheels available from Porsche can be added to the mix, which the complete set weighs less than 40 kilograms. Lovely piece of machine it is!
