Bahrain might pay you to use the bus?

It seems that in the gulf region, most houses own as many cars as the number of people living in them, if not more. The Bahrain government sees this as a major concern, with multiple-car ownership having a direct affect on traffic and road usage. Their concept, although not detailed as of yet, is simple: provide incentives for employees who use public transport.

I think before anyone is able to move forward with this plan, they need to work hard on mapping the infrastructure first. But imagine if all government employees had access to a well-organized and safe public transport system, be it a metro or bus system, that takes them from their neighborhoods directly to their office buildings. Might be a far stretch and would people accept it? The deal-breaker here is that they would be compensated for it. What do you think?
