What has 4 doors, is now lighter, and will probably battle with a Ferrari on track? *UPDATED

UPDATE: BMW has officially named the lightweight M3 sedan the BMW M3 GTS Sedan.

BMW has just unveiled a lightweight version of its M3 sedan in Munich. Positioned between the regular M3 and the super-duper GTS, the lightweight 4-door should retain the 420hp V8 engine, will have upgraded suspension and exhaust systems, and bigger brakes.

Aerodynamically, not much has changed but the rear wing. The blue paint contrast with the black rims used for this photo-shoot definitely gives the car an aggressive demeanor.

BMW has yet to reveal any official data about the lightweight M3 sedan, but be expecting news soon regarding weight figures. I can’t wait!

Looks almost the same as the old one except for that back trunk thingy sticking out.

You know your stuff Miss Good Egg!

I think more of the changes to the 4-door M3 would be weight-saving measures, so nothing really visible on the outside.

I do love the M3 four door! There is something about it being a compact performance four door!

Any interior pics? Love the M3 four door!

    • el wehbi Says:

Unfortunately no pics of the interior as of yet. I think, as always with BMW, the interior won’t be so different. Probably some sport seats, Alcantara suede, and some carbon fiber bits.
