Video: The Monaco Grand Prix nobody wanted to win?

It was 1982, a season which contained the likes of Nelson Piquet, Mario Andretti, Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell and Alain Prost. Not short of superstar drivers, the season wasn’t short of tragedies either. The season witnessed two fatalities: drivers Gilles Villeneuve and Riccardo Paletti were both killed during racing incidents; while there had been a career-ending accident as well: Didier Pironi suffered massive injuries to his legs in a qualifying accident taking him out of F1 permanently.

The season was full of ups and downs, but the racing quality was nothing short of brilliant. The 1982 Monaco Grand Prix was decided on the final lap. Watch the video after the jump… lovely stuff, I promise.
