A racing Maserati purely for the Middle East!

Maserati has launched a single-make racing championship for the Middle East. The Trofeo JBF RAK Middle East will feature sixteen cars competing in a 12-race schedule across different venues in the Middle East, such as Qatar’s Losail Circuit, Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, the Dubai Autodrome and more.

Based on the GranTurismo coupe, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo is powered by a 488bhp 4.7 liter V8 engine driving the rear wheels, mated to a gearbox with light-speed 60 millisecond gear changes.

With the inaugural race of the season set for November 11 2011, drivers will pay an entry fee of approximately $145,000 to receive one of the GranTurismo MC Trofeo cars, maintained and managed by Maserati throughout the season. The driver will also receive technical support, logistical assistance, and a few other goodies.
