Saying goodbye to the 599, Ferrari launch one last special edition

Celebrating 60 years of victories in Formula 1, Ferrari has launched its last special edition of the Ferrari 599 GTB… that and the fact that they are probably milking the end of the car’s production cycle before its successor arrives next year. The limited edition Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1 will be available in three liveries.

The first livery is the 375 F1 Livery: Utilizes the same red used on Froilan Gonzalez’s 1951 375 F1 car, consisting of a darker pastel tone.

The second livery is the Ferrari 150° Italia Livery: this “tri-color” livery uses the Scuderia 2011 red livery used for Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari 150° Italia. Formula 1 white is used on the lower section of the front bumpers and mudguards, bonnet, A-posts, buttresses and the rear.

The third livery is the Ferrari 150° Italia 2 Livery: similar to the 150° Italia, this livery uses white only on the lower part of the bumpers with no tricolor application at the rear.

Just to make sure the 599 GTB 60F1 has the attitude to match the F1 paint, Ferrari has included the Handling Grand Turismo Evoluzione (HGTE) Package which adds a stiffer ride with reduced body roll, sharper handling, less understeer, and overall improved road-holding abilities over the standard 599.

The interior plays host to Alcantara suede, another fabric named Superfabric which is super-grippy, racing seats, red & blue four-point safety harnesses (specified by the FIA for the 2010/2011 season), Alutex dashboard trim consisting of metallic fibers and fiberglass, and a silver plaque with Froilan Gonzalez and Fernando Alonso’s signatures.

Felipe Massa must be annoyed.
