Two 6-wheeler Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG trucks headed for the Middle East

February 17, 2013

It’s no secret that the Middle East has a romantic infatuation with the Mercedes-Benz G Wagon. You can pull up at a traffic light and chances are you will spot the boxy brute somewhere. So I guess it was only a matter of time before we’d see a truly customized variant of the G Wagon headed for our shores.

Meet the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG “6×6”. Snapped prior to being shipped out to their new home(s) in the Middle East, these two examples will be quite the rare sighting. One in white and one in a grayish hue.

The Australian military currently uses a similar six-wheeled G-Wagon within its arsenal, but it’s safe to say that these are the first civilian trucks produced. There has been no confirmation whether these two examples have been built by (more…)

Race2Recovery: a story that deserves recognition

January 22, 2013

Race2Recovery, a British Dakar Rally team comprised of British and American soldiers, has become the first team to complete the rally with disabled crew members taking part. Serveral amputees made up a component of this team which successfully crossed the finish line with one of its four Land Rover Wildcat trucks. One was (more…)

I see the resemblance between the Range Rover and THIS. Do you?

Which SUV has the Range Rover taken design inspiration from? Don’t hate me, but the resemblance is uncanny. (more…)

First new Range Rovers delivered to the Ruler of Dubai

November 21, 2012

The first dealer in the world to deliver the all new Range Rover is Al Tayer Motors in the UAE. The keys to two examples went to Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, and another set went to the Crown Prince. I don’t know what’s more bling bling? Having the first example or that “Dubai 1” license plate?

2013 Nissan Juke-R production model finally revealed!

October 17, 2012

Nissan has just taken the wraps off of the production 2013 Juke-R limited edition model. The Godzilla-inspired crossover took the world by storm during its development, primarily due to the fact that it was a Skyline GT-R crammed under a Juke’s body.

The official horsepower figure of 545hp has been announced; however, nothing regarding torque as of yet. What Nissan does claim is that the Juke-R can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 275km/h!

As most of you probably know, the Juke-R uses the GT-R’s potent 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, mated to the car’s (more…)

Wait a minute… this isn’t the Juke-R!

June 15, 2012

Nissan and Nismo, the brand’s motorsports and performance arm, are probably hoping that the Juke Nismo will make half the splash the Juke-R did. If that happens, there will be “mucho” success to celebrate. The reason I believe this variant exists is because the Juke-R became so popular that it made limited production in very small numbers, so Nissan needed to satisfy the customers that couldn’t afford it.

Powered by a tuned version of the Juke’s 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, the Nismo version comes with a stiffened suspension, a modified steering setup and (more…)

Uh oh! Nissan Juke-R confirmed for limited production

May 3, 2012

Nissan has confirmed it! The Juke-R concept, which recently terrorized a few supercars around a Dubai street circuit, will go into a limited production run. If you don’t know anything about the Juke-R, allow me to draw up a picture for you. Body of a Juke crossover with the engine, gearbox and all-wheel drive system from a Skyline GT-R!

The production version is expected to stay true to its concept sibling. There’s even talk of the production Juke-R receiving the 2012/2013’s GT-R’s (more…)
