September 15, 2010

Ken Block is back with Gymkhana 2, and he doesn’t disappoint! The man is definitely skilled in the drift department and it’s clearly proven in this 2nd part of the Gymkhana series. High speed does not intimidate him whatsoever. WOW! Watch the video after the jump. (more…)

Travis Pastrana gives insight to planning a record-breaking rally lap (w/video)

September 14, 2010

I like this video simply because you get a chance to see how a rally driver and co-pilot plan their timed lap. This partnership – Travis Pastrana (driver) & Marshal Clarke (co-driver) – leads to a record being broken at the Mt. Washington Rally Hillclimb which is no easy feat. Pastrana and Clarke go through communication codes and terms (some are bizarre and made up) which are utilized during the lap, giving us insight as to how the pros do it. This person was at the wrong place and at the wrong time during the Kuwait International Rally last week. Kuwaiti rally driver, Mubarak Al-Thefiri, apparently didn’t see him standing there. Close call if you ask me!

2 legends: Walther Rohrl and the Audi Quattro

March 7, 2010

I am a huge fan of the legendary race car driver, Walther Rohrl. A lucky Autocar journalist gets the chance to take a ride with him in the legendary Audi Quattro rally car, driving up the Col de Turini in the Alps.
