So long…

June 7, 2013

The title actually works in two ways.

The first meaning is straightforward. It has been so long since I have last posted on my beloved blog. But there is a reason for this. I no longer feel that it is the best platform to serve my needs of chit-chatting about cars. To me, blogs are slowly fading. They just don’t have the excitement around them anymore. People everywhere have decided to turn them into money-making advertisement platforms and have taken the very essence of what blogging should be and commercialized it. More power to them. It’s just that was never my intention and when I saw that that’s what everyone was expecting of Brake Banzeen, it became much more tiring to explain that that’s not what this site was about. It was a place for me to share my thoughts on cars with like-minded individuals. That’s it.

The second meaning comes into play now. It’s time for me to hang up my typing gloves and move towards the mediums which most people tend to use more frequently. I have a newfound love for Twitter, the appreciation for which it only takes 140 characters to say what you have to. And obviously there is Instagram; haven’t started yet but I’m sure I’ll get there soon. For any of my followers over the last 4 years, thank you for reading and being an integral role of Brake Banzeen. I’ll always appreciate it.

If you guys would like to continue following my work, please do so on Twitter @brakebanzeen.

So long people, it’s been a joy!

Range Rover covered in coins representing the GCC… no cliche here folks

March 25, 2013

Approximately 57,412 coins were used to cover the surface of a Range Rover. The SUV is also covered in GCC flags and visuals representing their current and previous rulers. An entity naimed Coins Car is responsible for this. I don’t get it. Not necessarily my cup of tea. Cliche to the max. But it is impressive. Watch the walkaround video after the jump. (more…)

Speed comparison: Red Bull F1 car, a V8 Supercar and a Mercedes SL AMG. This time, it isn’t staged.

March 23, 2013

It’s been done before. Only difference is, this one takes place on live TV and isn’t staged as frequently done for marketing & PR purposes. Nice to see Casey Stoner and Mick Doohan involved (normally pushing the limits on their race bikes), while David Coulthard resumes duty in the Red Bull F1 car. Enjoy the video after the jump. Video: Kimi Raikkonen angry with Apple Maps

November 30, 2012

If anyone watched the action-packed Brazilian Grand Prix, then you’d surely remember Kimi’s “lost on track” episode. It was only a matter of time before someone used it in a spoof. Enjoy the video after the jump. (more…)

First new Range Rovers delivered to the Ruler of Dubai

November 21, 2012

The first dealer in the world to deliver the all new Range Rover is Al Tayer Motors in the UAE. The keys to two examples went to Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, and another set went to the Crown Prince. I don’t know what’s more bling bling? Having the first example or that “Dubai 1” license plate?

What’s different about this Porsche?

November 1, 2012

Come on… I’m sure you see it. Let’s just say it gains inspiration from a car that uses a single letter and number in its name. And no, this isn’t a photoshopped image. Any takers?

Taking a break! A much-needed one!

August 16, 2012

Fear not dear readers! Brake Banzeen hasn’t been shut down. I’ve just decided to take a much-needed break from all things related to social media. Will be posting again in close to two weeks time, if not earlier, so please keep checking the blog every now and then. You can also follow me on Twitter @brakebanzeen, where I’ll probably drop a few rants every once in a while. Thanks for understanding!

Stay tuned… pun intended.
