Some say it isn’t right that the new C7 base model Corvette gets the legendary “Stingray” name. I’m beginning to think otherwise. Why?  (more…)

Launched! 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

I thought I really wanted the C6 Corvette badly… but damn, do I want the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette even more! Although this could be the most controversial Corvette of our time, this thing simply looks amazing.

One thing you can’t argue is that the C7 Stingray draws inspiration from some of the fastest sports cars out there. The front end has a bit of Ferrari in it. The side vents placed behind the front fenders scream “Skyline GT-R”. The double-bubble carbon fiber roof is a concept currently used on the BMW M6. Some may disagree on the rear end’s design, but I think it works well with the car especially since it’s a functional design. According to Chevrolet’s press release, the “airflow through the differential and (more…)

Is this the 2014 Corvette?

November 15, 2011

The people over at Jalopnik swear by it. According to them and their GM insiders, these renderings are exactly what the next-generation, 2014 Chevrolet Corvette (C7) will look like. It must be noted that the trim level shown is the ZR1 package.

The 7-speed will follow the Porsche model by using the 7th gear as an overdrive. The benefit is that (more…)

January 23, 2011

Just how bad are old mobile phones for the environment when they aren’t recycled after use? PaceButler, a mobile phone recycling company in the US, decided that the best way to raise awareness about the issue was by dropping a 1,500-pound box of mobiles on a Chevrolet Camaro. The result is in the video after the jump. (more…)

GM trademarks the legendary “Stingray” name

September 4, 2010

In May, General Motors filed a trademark application for the word “Stingray” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The application was for use on “Motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles.” Could Chevrolet be planning on bringing the Stingray name back to life for the next Corvette model? (more…)

Oops, sorry boss! I didn’t mean to take your Corvette ZR1 for a joyride! (w/video)

August 29, 2010

An employee at Woodhouse Chevrolet, a Nebraska dealership, took an unsold $110,000 Corvette ZR1 for a joyride, a few donuts and tire-peeling launches. The genius decided to film and put it on the web for all to see. Somebody’s gonna get fired! Hit the jump to watch the video. (more…)
