It’s been done before. Only difference is, this one takes place on live TV and isn’t staged as frequently done for marketing & PR purposes. Nice to see Casey Stoner and Mick Doohan involved (normally pushing the limits on their race bikes), while David Coulthard resumes duty in the Red Bull F1 car. Enjoy the video after the jump. (more…)

UPDATE: Turns out that the “crazed F1 fan” was actually an official marshall for the charity event, so there may have been some miscommunication at some point. Still, does he make it or not?
Japan is home to some of the craziest F1 fans in the world! This video simply proves it. A man attempted to jump over Sebastian Buemi’s moving Red Bull Formula 1 car at a Red Bull event in Japan. Buemi was luckily driving at a very low 40km/h (approximate) when the fan went for glory. Hit the jump to see if his attempt was successful or not. (more…)
I don’t know if it’s so smart to go and get the Red Bull boys revved up, Mr. Hamilton. They are the Formula 1 world champions, after all. But his quote is backed up by some sort of sanity:
“Red Bull are not a manufacturer, they are a drinks company. It’s a drinks company versus McLaren/Ferrari history. I don’t know what their plan is. Our team is (more…)
My favorite Formula 1 race of the season, the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps, is on this weekend (August 27th – August 29th), following a long holiday break. It’s about time!
F1 coverage will be broadcast this weekend on Abu Dhabi Sport 2, with the timings being:
- Friday Practice (1): 11:00 pm
- Friday Practice (2): 3:00 pm
- Saturday Practice: 12:00 pm
- Saturday Qualifying: 3:00 pm
- Sunday Race: 3:00 pm
Hit the jump to watch Mark Webber drive the Red Bull F1 simulator and give us a preview of the race.
The season is getting closer and as you can all tell from my recent posts, teams are rolling out their 2010 contenders to get some track time under their belts before the season kicks off in Bahrain in March. Red Bull have just launched the RB6, which will be driven by Mark Webber (Australian) and Sebastian Vettel (German). Finishing 2nd last year, expectations will be high this time around.

Honoring F1’s return to Canada in the 2010 season, Red Bull decided to let Sebastien Buemi (Scuderia Torro Rosso driver) drift the expensive racer on the snow. He also takes the car for a spin on a snow-covered F1 circuit in Montreal. I loved the part when he reaches the Start / Finish line and it reads “Salut Gilles” on the road; Gilles Villeneuve, father to Jacques Villeneuve, is a legendary Canadian Ferrari F1 driver who died in a tragic accident during a qualifying session in 1982.
