Qatar wants to host F1… only a matter of time!

Qatar wants to join Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in hosting a Formula 1 race at its Losail International Circuit. Losail is currently home of the MotoGP night race which is hosted under floodlights.

Qatar’s Motor and Motorcycling Federation president, Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah said: “Hosting a Formula One race is definitely in the strategic plan for Qatar. We have a great track and we are currently working on upgrading it to official specifications… we are three quarters through the project…  [we] want to be recognised as an F1 Grade A circuit with testing capabilities.”

I have a feeling if Qatar really wants to host a race, the country will have its way. It’s only a matter of time and that’s great news for us!
